*Here we report the first confirmed pediatric case of novel coronavirus infection (2019-nCoV) in Shanghai, China. The treatment process is as follow, a 7 year-old boy was admitted at Children’s Hospital of Fudan University because of fever and coughing for 3 hours. The patient was soon admitted into negative pressure ward since his father was lately diagnosed with novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) pneumonia (COVID-19). After symptomatic treatment, the patient recovered. COVID-19 cases in children generally present milder symptoms compare to that in adult cases. Family transmission is the essential route of transmission in pediatric cases. Although this was a patient with mild symptoms, but the patient has been tested positive for novel coronavirus nucleic acid twice during recovery. This indicates that we should keep monitoring the transmission potential of asymptomatic virus carrier in mild pediatric case.
